WMA, Part 6

The kids had a blast at the pool and then at the Junkin's house. The only problem is that we didn't get home until 10:00. Everyone was great at getting straight to bed. Get this, Ryan woke up around 8:00, Matt at about 9:00 and Elizabeth slept until 10:30! Ryan was hideously tired, though, so he took a bit to get down for his nap. (But he's sleeping now.) Everyone else seems OK, so far anyway. We missed church, but I think it's better that the kids slept.

The pool is a little difficult to do alone. Matt and Elizabeth are fine and don't really require much supervision. Ryan, on the other hand, is fearless. Imagine that at the pool: trying to walk straight into deep water, running everywhere, and trying to climb onto the bottom of the slide while kids are coming down. Ah, well, I'm pretty sure he had a good time, and that's what matters.

The two older kids have had a bath now, so they're all ready for Mommy to get home.

Now I guess I'd better get out to cut the grass before the rain hits again.

WMA, Part 5

Wow, everyone (but Ryan) slept in until almost 9:00. Ryan got up just before 7:00, but let me sleep. He just played around in our bedroom and watched TV. Of course, I had to do the usual "on the bed, off the bed" routine, but not very often. (Thanks, Ryan.)

We didn't accomplish much this morning. I put on cartoons for the kids while I cleaned out the fridge. I just got Ryan to bed for his nap. Hopefully, it won't be very long because we have lots of errands to run today. I'll try to work on the yard while he naps, M and E are going to "play on the computer".

Tonight, we're planning on hitting the pool before going to the Junkins' house for a cook out.

WMA, Part 4

OK, just got the kids to bed. Ryan's still crying and Elizabeth and Matthew are whispering in bed trying to keep me from hearing. (Elizabeth has been sleeping in Matt's room for a few months. They both seem to like it, and the incidence of them showing up in our bed in the middle of the night has dwindled to zero.)

I think that Ryan finally gave up. However, now Roscoe thinks it's walk time since we usually go sometime shortly after I put the kids to bed. I'm sure he'll give up soon, as he usually does when Jeanne's not here.

Pizza for lunch, hot dogs for dinner. Kid shows most of the morning and video games for a couple hours this afternoon. Am I a great dad, or what? :-) The kids cleaned up their toys pretty well, but I had to hound them to do it. I finally threatened to get rid of "fun time" tomorrow.

Jeanne called just when I was starting to grill the hot dogs. Ryan was having a fit because I wouldn't let him out back and Matthew came out back even though I told him not to. Between Ryan crying and me yelling at Matt, I'm sure it sounded like chaos on the other end of the phone. Jeanne says she's having fun. I'm glad she didn't get rained out -- looked like she might earlier.

I think I'll relax for a short while, watch a bit of TV, and hit the sack early. (Yeah, right...)

WMA, Part 3

Went to HEB to drop off pics, returned some library books, then off to Gattiland. The kids love it there. The movie was The Incredibles again, but they enjoyed it anyway. Ryan put away so much food, I couldn't believe it. On the way home, we went through one of the semi-rural neighborhoods (the 1+ acre "estate lot, small home" variety) and found 20+ deer wandering around. The kids (all three) loved this little excursion.

Ryan's asleep now, the Matt and Elizabeth are listening to YMCA, and I've promised them a little "SSX Tricky" PlayStation action, so I'd better go...

While mommy's away (WMA), part 2

OK, I just got "I'm bored of watching TV" from Elizabeth. It's been, what, an hour? (Well, maybe two.) I guess I should be glad.

So, now that I've gotten them bored with that, maybe they'll spend some time with me! I'm actually looking forward to this, even though I've gotten a lot of "you're gonna have to watch ALL THREE kids!??!" from people at work.

Off to create some fun! (Well, maybe a shower first.)

While Mommy's away...

Well, it's been over a year since I posted anything, I guess it's time to make another post...

So, Jeanne has just gone on her birthday party weekend with her friends. Me and the kids will be hanging out together all weekend. Should be fun. Ryan is already crying -- not sure why, but I'd better go find out.

I'll post again as the weekend rolls on...

I'm.... so.... tired...

We just spent the evening with our friends. The kids played and had a great time... the babies slept... Lots of great conversation. But, with last night being my turn to watch Ryan, I'm a bit tired. However, I had to start my blog!
